Task: Report On Technology Availability
The Technology Availability Report which contains details on the Availability service level agreements along with exceptions, improvements and changes to the Technology Availability Plan, must be prepared. The Technology Availability Report must be communicated to all stakeholders at an agreed frequency.

The Availability Manager must compute and track all agreed key performance indicators for Technology Availability Management and report the same to relevant stakeholders at an agreed frequency. The technology availability service levels, along with exceptions and changes to the Technology Availability Plan must be reported. The Technology Availability Plan can be used as a basis for reporting progress on the agreed action points to keep the availability of the IT Infrastructure and its resources at agreed levels.

The Technology Availability Report should also contain details on the data sources used for availability calculation, availability targets, computation logic, list of business accepted risks and changes that will influence availability of the service.

Few examples of technology availability measures include:

  • Mean-Time-Between-Failure (MTBF)
  • Mean-Time-To-Restore Service (MTTRS)
  • Mean-Time-Between-System-Incidents (MTBSI).
